For the newest edition of our Apollo member interview, we sat down with Felix Nguyen from Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Vietnam. We discussed the importance of automotive vehicles for the future of logistics, why freight forwarders should always be prepared for a new crisis and the key role of his industry for the world economy.

How did you get started in the logistics industry and what has your journey been like so far?

I graduated with a major and worked at many different shipping companies and freight forwarders. I started with my current company in July 2012.

If there is one thing that you could change to the logistics industry, what would it be and why?
Autonomous vehicles are a technology that holds great promise for the future. Vehicles that can operate autonomously can start running with or without supervision. Autonomous vehicles have the potential to be safer, less expensive, and easier to manage than manual vehicles. This lowers operating costs, keeps the roads safer, and allows vehicle drivers to find new, higher-level positions within their respective companies. Looking towards the distant future, AI takes on the task of doing repetitive human work in the logistics chain.

What is the most important lesson working in logistics has taught you?

The COVID-19 epidemic changed supply chains and business methods globally. As a bridge to move goods through supply chains and into the market, logistics businesses need to remember to always be prepared for any crisis and to always change, adapt, and digitize. The workplace is always flexible, and the human resources of experts and leaders need high expertise. This is especially important for customers who need to create an image of high-quality products and services of high value, which will reflect the quality of your service in the market.

What do you like most about the industry and your job in particular?

What I like most about the logistics industry is that logistics plays an extremely important and core role in determining the success of the continuous development of the business world. Coordinating, managing, and operating activities related to goods and services has become something to be proud of for people working in this industry because they themselves contribute to the continuous development of the world economy.

What do you like the most about being a member of our logistics network?

We have handled many large projects and met all customer needs, such as automotive, perishable, OOG, cross-border, sea and air combination solutions, etc.

My company is constantly learning and improving its sustainable development associated with the development of technology. Always apply advanced technology to smart logistics and keep up with the trends of the times to help control and best meet all customer needs. We have our own intelligent IT team and management system (CRM), integrated with many global intelligent systems.

Experiencing many challenges, especially during the COVID-19 period, we are still developing continuously, like N° 1 in Vietnam for perishable logistics and automotive logistics, in Asia of CMA Group in 2022, and in Asia of Gold Star Line in 2022.
